Who: Andy Hillman, set designer. As as a renowned set and installation designer for brands such as Celine and Louis Vuitton, and with his work for Vogue, Andy is more used to being on the other side of the camera. We caught him on the morning after he’d been up all night installing a beautiful display of giant red felt roses for the launch of Floriental for Comme des Garcons in Selfridges.

I usually wear Wonderwood by Comme des Garcons, but I will be wearing Floriental because I’ve worked with it a lot creating this installation and like it. It’s very fruity and plum-y at the beginning and then it mellows…It’s really been interesting doing this project because before, I’d never really understood it when someone tells you about the different layers to a perfume, but because I’ve got to know this perfume so well, I know it does has very distinct layers as it ages, so the fruity note drops off after a while and you get the sandalwood -which I really like- later on.
