Who: Romano Ricci, perfumer and creator of the Paris based perfume house Juliette Has a Gun. The charming and always beautifully dressed Mr Ricci is the great grandson of designer Nina Ricci, and his grandfather Robert created the classic L’Air du Temps. Style clearly runs in the family. He founded his own fragrance label Juliette Has A Gun in 2006.

Today I’m wearing Not A Perfume. It’s a woody, dry, clean smell.

For me, perfume is like a drop of confidence. If I wear certain fragrances, I tend to merge with the idea behind the fragrance and it affects how I am about myself. It’s like with certain clothes, or accessories, it can make you stand up a little straighter. I think it all works together in how you present yourself.

The best thing about fragrance is when people pay you compliments on how you smell. So, in a way when you are buying a fragrance, you are buying compliments!

I am pretty basic with my application, I don’t have a secret formula – like you should put it on the nose! It”s always the last thing that I do before I leave the bathroom and I apply it on my pulse points and around my neck. And of course on my clothes, I recommend you put it on your clothes because it leaves a ‘signature’ and clothes are a very good medium to carry the scent.
