Who: Donna Ida Thornton, CEO of Donna Ida, the ultimate designer denim destination for those seeking the perfect jeans. Donna has two boutiques, one on Draycott Avenue in the heart of Chelsea and a second in Belgravia, an area that’s become a bit of a hot spot for artisan store openings. As well as selling the coolest denim brands of the moment (she’s online too), Donna has her own denim range IDA, which she launched four years ago and which recently introduced cashmere and silk items. it’s a very tempting place to visit.
Today I’m wearing Juliette Has A Gun’s new fragrance, which is suggestively called MMMM… and is encased in a scarlet red bottle. I love the mix of fruity and floral notes, it is a seductive scent so, perfect for evening.
It’s a confident fragrance so I wear it when I have an event to attend. It’s very decadent, with raspberry and orange blossom mixing with tuberose and sandalwood, making it quite alluring.
Denim and fragrance are perfect partners, you just have to think back to those iconic denim shots of Kate Moss for Calvin Klein’s CK1 adverts wearing cool classic jeans and simple tees.
For clothes advice, I always say that you need a great pair of jeans, like our best-selling IDA Rizzo Ankle Skinny, as a foundation piece, worn with a beautiful classic cashmere jumper and a statement silk blouse, teamed with a great pair of trainers for daytime which you can switch for heels in the evening.
Jewellery and fragrance are my frosting so I like diamond jewellery from Pia Hallstrom and then I finish off with a spritz of perfume.
MMMM… is perfect for evening events, I might pick a cleaner, lighter fragrance at the weekend. Jo Loves Pomelo is a lovely refreshing scent to wear with our new SS17 collection which is called International Denim Jet Set, for a woman on the go.
I love a body creme, I’ve been recommend to try a different body creme to your perfume, it layers up the scent and I like to mix it up. I then spritz perfume on my wrists and neck, and carry a miniature version if I can to top-up later in the day.
