Who: Jayne Cady, design director, Winser London. Jayne clearly loves her “fantastic job’ as she describes it, overseeing the design evolution of the fast growing Winser London brand, with its stylish, quality range in beautiful fabrics. We certainly find it very hard to resist her lovely designs, the brand’s Lauren silk shirt was picked by Vogue as one of its Centenary Year 100 Iconic Products, so if Vogue say’s its OK, who are we to argue?
“Today I’m Wearing Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare, a fabulous perfume by the House of Creed, it was a favourite of Ava Gardner, who was a beautiful Hollywood movie star and my husband always thought I looked like her – I wish! So for one of our first anniversaries, he bought me her perfume. It comes in a wonderful flask that you have to decant into your own perfume bottle, you end up smelling like roses and he’s been buying it for me ever since.
It’s wonderful to wear, I feel very feminine and romantic when I wear it and people always say I smell delicious, which I quite like.
Fragrance is essential to me, if I’m feeling tired or I haven’t had time to freshen up, I just have a squirt and it makes me feel clean and ready to go on, it’s like a magical formula, perfume.
There’s definitely a relationship between clothes and fragrance, I think if you love beautiful things, then the complimentary elements of your personality come through with the clothes you pick to wear and how you choose to smell.
I spray when I’m feeling i need a little bit of a juush, I spray in the mornings, through the day and sometimes even when I’m going to bed.”
